What Levicent Ladies consists of: First, a women's only computer course given free by Levicent is taken. In this course basic computer skills are first taught, proceeded by web design skills including the use of HTML, DHTML and Javascript. Once the month long course is completed, the attendants will be given the option to work with Levicent by completing a teacher training course in the skills they just learned and then going on to hold Summer Break courses for children from their homes. These courses will be one month, two hours a day, one hour of practical learning in the morning and an hour lab in the evening. The children participating in these courses will be charged 1000 Rs. each.
What is asked of the housewives that would like to participate is that they teach these courses for a minimum length of time, perhaps six months; they will give Levicent 35,000 Rs. up front, 27,000 Rs. of which goes toward the laptop that will be bought for them, the rest goes toward the teaching materials and Levicent's fees.
Levicent will take care of all the advertising and will place the students with the teacher closest to them; plus Levicent will provide the training material and student materials. 75% of the profit from these courses go to the teacher and 25% of the profit goes to Levicent for it services.
Again, this is an excellent opportunity for those women who wish to learn about computers and would like to have a part time job without even having to leave home. When these Summer Break courses are not being offered these women will be given the chance to continue to work with Levicent by furthering their training in web design and working on various projects coming into the Levicent office.
